Slang is good. It is a ever changing piece of a sub-culture, and it helps us give new meanings to certain things.
My girlfriend is american, born and bred. Her mother and grandmother lived in France and taught her to speak it. So I speak english to her and if we ever go to France, or Montreal she could get us some food.
To live in the states.... hmmm.... I love it. I could never say that it is better than one place because I have never lived anywhere else. But I love the wide open road, the ability to drive my car for a week and never reach the other side of the country, and the people.

So everyone. How is living in France? I read that you guys hate Americans over there, and what better way to find out than to ask people that actually live there.

I'm not french. I'm Mauritian... if you see where is the Republic of Mauritius found in the Indian Ocean? I'm actually in France for university studies...;
I don't hate americans!! I love them! Really and I appreciate them.
It's nice to live here but I guess that when you are a foreigner there are always a few problems but in general I guess it's nice.

I meant slang is not good in the way that it disturbs or it may cause some confusion in written english; i think you see what i mean umh?

It's great to communicate with you!!! It allows me to practise my english cause here we rarely have the occasion to do so... Sometimes I speak a little with my parents who are in Mauritius...

Infact, I'm bilingual; I'm fluent in both english and french.
In Mauritius, the official language is english but we do use loads of french too.
My homeland is very different from France in every aspect.

For the past few days it has snowed like crazy. They cancelled school for me 3 days in a row. Now I am behind all my classes. It is crazy.

And today will be my last day of posting for about 12 days. I am going to Hawaii to escape the cold. So wish me luck on that plane.

i just want to say that i far as i amble to judge i think we shouldn't take everything we read in newspapers or we watch on tv as the truth....
it seems to me that some people in France during the Iraqi war were against the Bush's policy but saying that people in France hate Americans it is a little bit exagerating...
to disagree with someone's view doesn't mean at all that you hate this person...
Media sometimes exagerate and are very biased! it was the same reaction in some French newspapers which declared that French people were not welcomed any more in the United States and that being a French in the Usa was a burden...
